Welcome to our July newsletter! Let’s talk about all the exciting news and events that have been happening with our charity this month.
We’re thrilled to share that East Midlands Railway is generously donating 10 train tickets to London for our mentees!
A huge thank you to East Midlands Railway for their support—thanks to their kindness, our mentees will enjoy an exciting and memorable day out.
Thank you to City Of Derby Academy for generously donating to our charity. The students took part in Culture day and raised £58 for us!
Our CEO Irshad Baqui visited the school and met with the vocational teacher and Well Being Co-Ordinator, Maggie McQuilton and the Head teacher Mr Harding.
Thank you for your support and inviting us to visit. Such a lovely way to celebrate cultures from around the world!
After being named the Cedar + Co. charity of the year at the beginning of 2025, we’ve been looking forward to this event for months – and it was a total hole in one! We are so grateful to the Cedar + Co team for hosting a fantastic Golf Day in support of Children First Derby.
Their dedication, generosity, and hard work with this event means so much to us and supports us in continuing our vital work supporting vulnerable children and families in our community.
From all of us at Children First Derby, thank you for making such a difference.
We’re thrilled to share that we received funding from the B&Q Foundation, awarded via Neighbourly which was used to help make our Centre safer for the children and families we support all year round!
The funding was used to repair and upgrade our external wall that runs along our driveway and staff car park. Thanks to this support, we were able to make the wall safe again, so children and families can freely and safely enjoy our outdoor garden space without worry.
Thank you B&Q and Neighbourly Business for helping us create a safer, happier space for our community!
A big thank you to the young Derby based author Adam Stylez for donating the proceeds of his debut book launch towards our charity – we can’t wait to see where his stories go next!
